Amazon Prime has lots of benefits for moms. Come learn the top 10 reasons every mom needs to be a member of Amazon Prime.

An Amazon box on a wooden floor

I’m a HUGE fan of Amazon! It’s one of my most frequent places to shop. But to really receive the top benefits Amazon has to offer, you need to be a member of Amazon Prime. That’s why I think Amazon Prime is a great investment for moms.

At first, Amazon Prime might not seem like a good idea for moms. Over $100 per year is a huge price tag! I get it! But Amazon Prime has saved me so much time, energy, money, and sanity in the long run. If you want to try out Amazon Prime FREE for 30 days, you can sign-up here.

Here are the top 10 reasons Amazon Prime is a must for moms:

1. Subscribe and Save

I’m constantly amazed by how few people utilize Amazon’s subscribe and save program. With Subscribe and Save, you set-up a subscription service to have certain items delivered on a rotating schedule for a discounted price.

You can choose how frequently you wish to receive each item (anywhere from monthly to every 6 months) and can always skip a month or cancel with no penalty. Subscribe and Save deliveries receive 5%-15% off discounts, which adds up over time and with multiple items. There are also often additional coupons for Subscribe and Save to maximize your benefits.

So, for instance, say you want to get a 3-pack of deodorant delivered every three months, tissues every six months, toothpaste every other month, diapers monthly, and face wash every four months. Perfect! But then, say it’s time for your toothpaste to be delivered and you still have more than half a tube left. No problem! Simply log-in to your account and skip that month’s delivery of toothpaste.

Now you don’t have to be a Prime member to sign-up for Subscribe and Save, but Prime members do get further discounts, like 20% off on diaper subscriptions (that have at least 5 items being delivered each month). You can see the full list of 20% eligible items here.

2. Free two-day shipping, without leaving the house.

I LOVE going out and shopping, but I don’t love going out and shopping with my kids. And since I’m with my kids the majority of the time, this benefit alone is so worth it!

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve shopped on other websites, filled up my cart, then gotten to checkout to see a ridiculous shipping price. I HATE paying for shipping! So it’s really nice having that free two-day shipping. And sure, it’s not exactly free, considering you have to pay for Prime. But I typically pay that off in the first 3-4 months of the year with all the shipping costs I save.

Sometimes you can even score free one-day shipping or free same-day shipping. Say what?! It’s only available on certain items, but it’s amazing when this happens!

3. Prime Now

Prime Now is just what it sounds like: shopping delivered right now (or within 2 hours). It’s only offered on certain items (a separate app and webpage are used for Prime Now items) and in certain areas. You can also get items delivered from local stores and restaurants.

This comes in handy when you have sick kiddos (or are sick yourself) and can’t leave the house. Say, for instance, one of your kids comes down with the stomach bug and you’re out of nausea relief meds, Pedialyte, and Saltines. Prime Now, to the rescue! Have all those items (plus maybe some caffeine for yourself) delivered to your door in no time!

4. Christmas Shopping

I do 90% of my Christmas shopping on Amazon. The benefit? I can do my Christmas shopping in my pajamas, have record of everything I purchased in one place, always have my shopping lists handy (and don’t veer from my list, getting distracted by all the other amazing things), and it’s delivered to my house in a plain brown Amazon box.

That last one is the best benefit! I don’t have to worry about finding places to hide items from my kids. The box does the hiding for me. I simply stick the boxes in my closet until it’s time to wrap. Voila and done!

5. Amazon Video

Amazon Video is similar to Netflix. It’s a streaming service of various movies and tv shows. Now, I’ll admit that Netflix is better than Amazon Video. BUT, it’s definitely an added bonus and we use it often. It has different things that Netflix too, so if you have both, you have way more options!

I also feel like the quality of shows on Netflix is going down, while Amazon has stayed the same. So there’s that.

6. Amazon Music

With Prime, you get access to over 2 million songs, AD FREE. Seriously, it’s amazing! We have an Echo (okay, we have two Echos and three Echo dots…) and it’s so nice to be able to stream music through them for free! We just ask Alexa to play music and she does, or name a song and it plays, or ask for a specific genre and it starts a playlist. This is perfect for kitchen dance parties, waking the kids up in a happy mood, or making chore time just a little bit more fun!

Occasionally, the song we want to listen to isn’t available, but that doesn’t happen super often. And they have great playlists for kids. Our daughter falls asleep listening to the Disney playlist almost every night!

You can stream Amazon music through the app, online, through the Echo, and more.

7. Prime Day

Prime Day is like Black Friday, but it’s in July and often has even better deals. It’s so much fun and you can get a lot of things at really great prices.

Not only can you get a lot of big ticket items for cheap, but you can also score great deals on items that you use every day. Things like laundry detergent, mascara, or pajamas. Deals vary and rotate throughout the sale, so thousands of items are typically on sale during Prime Day. It’s awesome!

Deals only last a certain amount of time (sometimes only for a few hours) and are available only to Prime members.

8. Kindle First Reads

I’m a huge reader and believe that everyone should read. With that said, Prime members get access to one FREE Kindle book each month. And they’re good books! Seriously, that’s a huge win in my opinion!

You don’t need a Kindle to read Kindle books either. You can download the app and read on your computer, tablet, or phone as well.

9. Amazon Rewards Visa Signature Card

I love the Amazon credit card! Technically this isn’t a Prime perk, but I don’t know why you’d get the card and not get Prime, so I’m including it anyway.

With the Amazon Rewards card, you get 3% back on all Amazon purchases (as well as Whole Foods Market), 2% at restaurants, gas stations, and drugstores, and 1% on all other purchases. Then, you can use points on future Amazon purchases. It’s basically free money!

I always pay mine off in full each month. I don’t want to use a credit card as an excuse to buy more than I can afford. But I pay it off, rack up points, save them up, then use them to buy Christmas presents. This way Christmas isn’t such a shock to our budget. It’s THE BEST!

10. Amazon Wish Lists

Okay, this one also isn’t technically a Prime benefit, but if you’re going to make a wish list, why not get free shipping on said items?

I love Amazon wish lists because they’re easily shared with friends and family. I can make birthday wish lists for my kids or Christmas lists to share with grandparents. I also have various wish lists going for items I’d like to try or am saving up for. I have categories for blog purchases, books, home, and fun items. It’s also a great way to store items you’re considering, but want to wait on.

You can also rate the priority of items within a wish list. So, for instance, if I make a Christmas wish list for my husband to use, I can show the things I want most by marking them as a high priority and things that would be fun but I’m not dying to have as a lower priority. That way he knows where I stand with each item.

You can add notes about each item as well, if you want, and you can even add items to your wish list that aren’t’ sold on Amazon, which is a super great feature.

I LOVE Amazon’s wish lists. They’re the best I’ve ever seen!
