There’s lots of reasons we put things off and av There’s lots of reasons we put things off and avoid tasks 😅

Here are 3 common ones:

😵‍💫 You don’t know where to start.

A lot of times the tasks on our to-do list are actually 2 or 5 or 20 tasks combined into one. That’s overwhelming!

The Fix ➡️ Break it down. Break the task into tiny, one step actions, then start working on the first one. If the task really can’t be broken down anymore and is something that will take more than an hour, consider breaking it down into time segments. 

Bonus tip: Don’t forget that if you don’t know HOW to do something, learning how is the first step! Better yet, figuring out where/how to learn how is the first step.

🥱 You don’t care.

If you don’t see the reason WHY you should do something, it’s going to be hard to motivate yourself to do it.

The Fix ➡️ Figure out why you want or need to do that thing. Keep digging until you find a reason that matters enough to feel motivated. If you can’t find something, then it probably doesn’t need to get done and it’s time to let it go.

🥴You need to check-in with yourself.

If we aren’t taking care of ourselves, it’s going to be a lot harder to get things done.

The Fix ➡️ Check in with yourself. Are you hungry? Tired? Sad? Overwhelmed? If so, is there a way you can meet that need right now–even if it’s not a complete fix? If you can’t, is there a way you can address it in the next few days?

Netflix and bubble baths are great 💁🏼‍♀️, but here are 10 of my favorite ways to take care of myself:

▪️Bringing a tumbler full of ice cold water everywhere I go so I always stay hydrated.
▪️Going for a walk to enjoy the peace of the morning and get in some vitamin D.
▪️Looking at my “wins” for the day when it feels like I’m failing at everything.
▪️Doing my best to get at least 7 hours of sleep.
▪️Starting my day with scriptures and prayer.
▪️Taking the time to make myself a real meal, even when I’m the only one home to eat it.
▪️Doing that thing I’m dreading because I know it’ll feel so good to get it done.
▪️Journaling my thoughts and getting to know myself better.
▪️Letting myself feel my emotions–even the uncomfortable ones.
▪️Building fun and connection into my life.

I love having bright, colorful nails 💅 It’s I love having bright, colorful nails 💅 

It’s silly, but it helps me feel confident and makes me happy!

But I felt overwhelmed by the options:

Should I get them done at a salon or do them myself?
Gel, powder, regular polish, Olive & June, stickers, glue-ons, Red Aspen…

The options are endless!

So I looked at what mattered most with my nails:
1️⃣ I wanted them to look cute and to have lots of options.
2️⃣ I wanted it to be quick & easy.

Which eliminated going to the nail salon or painting them at home.

So I tried multiple glue-on/stick-on brands, found my favorite, and haven’t looked back since!

When we know what matters, it automatically makes the decision easier.

So next time you’re stuck on a decision, take a minute to figure out what matters most within that decision and go from there.

I’ve read a lot of books on decluttering. Some I’ve read a lot of books on decluttering.

Some were good, others were okay.

But this one was 🤯🤯🤯

She approached it from a totally different angle and I found it so refreshing and eye-opening.

It often takes hearing something many times before It often takes hearing something many times before it actually sticks.

So before I write something off as “I’ve already learned that…” 💁🏼‍♀️

I like to ask myself, “Is this something I want to do/be/embody?”

If the answer is yes, I then ask, “Am I doing/being/embodying it?”

If the answer is no, then I still have more to learn.
