Smurfs 2 is a cute movie and this create your own smurf activity will help you turn it into a fun family movie night!
I saw Smurfs 2 with my kids a couple months ago as part of the Harkins summer movie program, and I was pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed it, and my kids did too! I loved the message it shared that we’re all different and that’s what makes us special. And how it emphasized that there is a place for everyone in this world, and all of us have something important to give to the world. That’s a message I fully believe, and one I can really get behind.
So if you haven’t seen it yet, keep reading and find out how to make it an extra special viewing experience for your kids (with VERY little effort).
Activity
After watching Smurfs 2, I got to thinking about what kind of smurf I would be. What would my name be? What would I look like? What would I do? This led to thinking about how fun it would be to create my own smurf. I mean, doesn’t that sound so fun? (I really am a kid at heart…).
So I created a printable to help my kids create their own smurf and thought I’d share it here. Invite some friends over to watch them movie, then download the printable, print off a copy for each kid, give them crayons/markers/colored pencils, and guide them through the prompts. Voila! A super fun activity for your kids and their friends that takes less than two minutes of prep work!
You can download your FREE copy of the printable here.
Your Turn
If you join in the fun, snap a picture and use #FamilyMovieFunwithPIM so I can see what you’re doing! I’d love to see the creativity of your kiddos and the smurfs they create!
If you were a smurf, what would your smurf name be?
