A list of the top 10 most popular blog posts on Color My Happy from 2019.

I was looking at my blog stats from 2019, and I was shocked by some of the posts that were the most popular from the year. It was super interesting to look back and see what posts were viewed the most, searched for the most on Google, and shared the most on Pinterest.

I thought it’d be fun to do a little round-up post of the top ten most visited posts on my blog, so I created this list, starting with the tenth most visited and working up to the most visited post on my blog in 2019:

10. Creating a Birthday Bucket List

With my thirtieth birthday less than a year away, I decided I wanted to make a 30 Before 30 list--a list of 30 things to do before I turn 30 years old. Creating a birthday bucket list is a fun way to celebrate getting a little older and to push yourself to do things you might not otherwise. Check out more about birthday bucket lists and download a free printable to create your own.

This post was SO MUCH FUN! I loved it and I’m still thinking about doing a kid’s version of it–especially since it was so well received.

9. 3 Routines for Kids

I love routines, and I love routines for my kids. It takes so much brain power and power struggles out of our days. This post talks about three of my favorite routines for kids.

8. How to Create a Self-Care Plan

Featured image for self-care post. Cream roses with words and a hot pink background.

Self-care is SO SO SO important and a topic I’m really passionate about. I want to talk more about it on the blog–what it REALLY is, what it ISN’T, how to practice it, ways to fit it into your life, etc. But this is a short little intro into how to create a self-care plan for yourself. This post was written before my rebrand from Perfectly Imperfect Mama to Color My Happy.

7. 10 Marriage Tips I’ve Learned from 10 Years of Marriage

2019 brought my ten year wedding anniversary (or, as we like to call it, our family’s tenth birthday)! This post shares ten marriage tips I’ve gleaned along the way. I can’t wait to learn more over the next 10, 20, 50 years with my best friend!

6. How to Tell A Story: A Simple Activity for Kids

This is one of my Simple Fun with Books activities (read the picture book; do a corresponding activity) that helps teach kids how to tell a story. And it’s SO MUCH FUN. Seriously, the kids and I had a blast with this one!

5. 3 Easy Ways to Connect With Your Kids Every Day

I love finding new and better ways to connect with my kids. Some days are super busy and it can be really hard to find the time to make those meaningful connections with my little ones. These three tips are short, simple, and pretty fun too!

4. Finding Self-Love: Writing Letters to Yourself

In today's society, self-love is a tough thing to learn, develop, and practice. If you're struggling with finding self-love, try writing these three letters to yourself and watch your self-love and self-compassion grow. Free printables included!

This is one that was searched for quite a bit on Google, which makes me sad that so many people are searching for self-love. But it also makes me want to tackle the tough topic even more!

3. Self-Love Activity for Kids

I'm a huge proponent of self-love and self-acceptance, and I want to make sure I teach my kids the importance of it. So when I stumbled on the book I Like Myself by Karen Beaumont, I knew I needed to combine it with a learning experience. Here's a simple self-love activity for kids that pairs well with the book and includes a free printable activity sheet.

I’m SHOCKED this one clocked in at number 3! The photos in this were super dark and grainy. I wanted to redo them, but didn’t have the time, so I went with it. I’m still hoping to one day reshoot photos for it, but I do love the activity and the book the activity goes along with. So while the visuals aren’t my fave, the content is!

2. Fifteen Books I Plan To Read This Year

2019 book list

This one made me LAUGH OUT LOUD! Of the 15 books I decided last January I would read in 2019, I read only two of them. I read 38 books, but only two on this list. Goes to show how much I stick to my reading plans! I still want to read the others on this list though, so I’m sure I’ll get to them one day.

1. What To Do When You’re Over the Elf

The Elf on the Shelf sitting on a shelf with the words "What to Do When You're Sick of the Elf: Plus Free printable letter from Santa" image for blog post

This is another post that really shocked me–especially because it came in at #1. It was a last minute post I threw together because, out of desperation one year, I didn’t want to do the elf and created a plan to get out of it with my kids. Then I decided, “Why not turn it into a blog post?” So I did. And then, less than a week into my plan, I caved and brought the elf back to our house. So, there’s that. But if you don’t want to do the elf next year, or only want to do it for a short time, here’s an idea for you to consider!
