Hey, Mama. Being a mom isn’t easy, but we’re in this together. I see you. And you are enough.

Hey, Mama. Being a mom isn't easy, but we're in this together. I see you. And you are enough.

Hey Mama,

The one feeling guilty for feeding your kids chicken nuggets for the 5th time this week,

because you just don’t have the energy to cook another meal they’ll probably reject.

I see you.

Hey Mama,

The one who sees the other moms who seem to have it all together,

and can’t figure out why you can’t get your life in order.

I see you.

Hey Mama,

The one whose brain won’t stop thinking about everything you think you should be doing,

and telling yourself how you’ll always fall short.

I see you.

Hey Mama,

The one who’s doing this parenting journey alone,

and isn’t sure you can keep putting one foot in front of the other.

I see you.

Hey Mama,

The one locked in your room

because you’re afraid if you come out you’ll scream at your kids and regret it.

I see you.

Hey Mama,

The one who just did scream at your kids,

and is sure you’re the only one who’s ever yelled that loudly at little ones.

I see you.

Hey Mama,

The one who just lost a child and can’t stop replaying every action you made,

thinking that if maybe you’d done something differently, you could have saved them.

I see you.

Hey Mama,

The one with chronic health issues who has every desire to give your kids an amazing life,

but not enough energy or physical strength to follow through with those plans.

I see you.

Hey Mama,

The one sitting on the floor against the kitchen cabinets,

as tears stream down your face.

I see you.

Hey Mama,

The one not getting ready in the morning,

because you can’t bear to look at yourself.

I see you.

Hey Mama,

The one eating chocolate in your closet

because you’re trying to escape, for just one minute.

I see you.

Hey Mama,

The one who wants a baby so badly,

but can’t have one.

I see you.

Hey Mama,

The one fighting with everything in you to stay awake,

when every inch of you just wants to crawl back into bed.

I see you.

Hey Mama,

The one trying so hard to hold it all together,

when you’re sure you’re seconds away from falling apart.

I see you.

Hey Mama,

The one who just let your kid have their tablet for yet another hour,

because you’re too tired to deal with the fight of taking it away.

I see you.

Hey Mama,

The one hiding in the bathroom with the sinks turned on,

so your kids can’t see or hear your sobs.

I see you.

Hey Mama,

The one whose inner voice of perfection is so loud

you aren’t sure you can stand another minute living inside your brain.

I see you.

Hey Mama,

The one who hates yourself so much

you can’t even make eye contact with yourself in the mirror.

I see you.

Hey Mama,

I see you.

I see your struggles. Your heartbreaks. Your worries. Your pain.

But I also see this:

Your efforts.

Your beauty.

Your bravery.

Your strength.

Your worth.

You are not alone.

You are never alone.

And you can do this.

So pick yourself up,

tell yourself you are enough,

because you are,

and keep going.

You are amazing.

And I see you.

  1. I’m the Mama who locks the bathroom door so that I can actually go to the bathroom without my daughter sitting ON MY LAP while I am sitting on the toilet… Show of hands? Love, love, love this post! Nice to be reminded that we are not alone on this crazy Mommyhood journey.
